ŠMIT ELECTRONIC was founded in 1994 in Kutina as an IT company specialized in information system design, software development, and the sale and service of computer equipment. From the beginning, the company has grown steadily, expanded its team and continuously improved its offer.
In 1996 we opened our first computer shop in Kutina, making our products available to retail customers as well. The offer included computers, components, peripherals and consumables, and later expanded to A/V and telecommunication equipment.
A key turning point came in 2006, when the strategic focus shifted to import, distribution and the development of our own brands. With the launch of SBOX, we began strong development of our distribution business and expansion into regional markets.
In 2011 the company moved into its own 2,200 m² business premises, including offices, a showroom, a warehouse and a research and development department, further strengthening the focus on wholesale, import and export.
The development of our own brands accelerated with the launch of gaming lines. White Shark, launched in 2016, grew in just ten years from a regional brand into a globally relevant player in gaming and consumer technology. In an industry dominated by large global manufacturers, White Shark stood out with a clear strategy: offering gaming gear focused on value for money, making it accessible to a wide range of users.
The brand’s growth is strongly connected to digital channels and direct communication with the community. Instead of relying only on traditional marketing, a network of content creators and a strong presence on social platforms were developed, resulting in more than 25 million followers, over 100 influencers and presence in more than 30 markets. This approach helped build a strong community, where marketing is not only a sales tool, but also a key part of long-term brand positioning.
White Shark also builds its identity through socially responsible projects, environmental initiatives and educational activities, including connecting gaming with STEM fields. In building global recognition, it also uses elements of popular culture, successfully connecting local identity with the international market.
Entering a new decade of business, the brand continues to develop by expanding its portfolio, strengthening its international presence and focusing on sustainability and contemporary product design.
Brand development continued with the launch of Barracuda in 2024, focused on durability, functionality and reliability for everyday gamer challenges.
Today, ŠMIT ELECTRONIC operates as one of the leading distributors of IT and accessory equipment in the region, with a broad portfolio exported to markets across Europe. We continuously expand our assortment, develop our own products and strengthen logistics capacities.
In line with further growth, we are currently developing and building a new 1,500 m² warehouse space, further improving distribution and partner support. The warehouse will also include new workshops where new production will start under three new brands, with more details coming soon.
